079-0917-5032, Fine Richards Conversion of a Colt M-1860 Army for the Indian Wars. These predate Ainsworth Single Action Revolvers. Richards conversion revolvers were manufactured in 1871-1878. Charles B. Richards along with William Mason ultimately designed the legendary Colt Single Action Army revolver which is in part an improvement on their conversion designs. It has standard markings and features. The Richards range serial numbers match on the barrel, frame, grip straps, cylinder, and grip. The wedge is not numbered, and the cylinder pin is marked. #31xx matching on exterior numbers with no number on wedge. [/p][p]
Fine with 40% original blue finish overall concentrated mostly in the protected areas of the barrel, 35% of the bright to subtle case colors, brighter case colors on the hammer and rear section of the frame, gray and brown patina and minor oxidation on the balance, 20% of the original silver on the trigger guard, and aged patina on the brass and silver. The grip is fine and has 80% strong varnish finish, moderate edge wear including some small chips, and light scratches. Mechanically excellent. Excellent wood to metal fit. A Colt SA from this era with this much blue would be a 15,000 dollar gun. .44 CF. [/p] Many more available.
