RARE CIVIL WAR-era Eben T. STARR Deringer
Description: RARE CIVIL WAR-era Eben T. STARR Deringer 1 of 800 with Interesting “KK” Serial Number! Here we present an antique Starr’s Patent Single Shot Deringer, made circa 1864 in Baltimore, Maryland by the Merrill Patent Firearms Mfg. Company. Only 800 of these small .41 rimfire derringers were made in total, making this a rare piece to come across. Eben T. Starr was most famous for his innovative Starr Model 1858 Double Action Revolver, the third most prolific handgun of the American Civil War. However, as was the case with many during this period, Starr personally came up with many designs, including this Single Shot Deringer and multi-shot pepperboxes. This pistol was intended for use as a 19th Century conceal and carry weapon, a small gun with a large bore. This Deringer features a brass frame with a side-mounted hammer and a tip-up barrel. Starr’s patent information is on the left side of the gun. The barrel, frame and each grip panel are all marked “KK” for the serial number. The is in overall good condition. The iron barrel and hammer have a dark gray patina. The brass frame is dark and untouched as well with a bit of the original silver plate finish. The markings are mostly legible. The grips and bore are in good condition and the action is very good. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Compare to one that sold at a recent for $3400! Barrel is 2-3/4 inches in length. Caliber: .41 rimfire The bore is in good condition and the action functional. Overall condition as seen in photos. Here is a rare and unique Deringer by Eben T. Starr to go with your Starr Double or Single Action Revolvers of the Civil War period! Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1250 #21785 SOLD Antique: Yes |
