German Reichsrevolver Model 1879 with Holster
Description:
Serial #5642, 10.6 x 25R, 7" barrel with an about good bore that has freckling throughout its length with some heavier pitting towards the muzzle.
This is a Dreyse-made revolver that has traces of original blue in protected areas, while the balance has turned to a lightly freckled plum-brown patina with some specks of pinprick pitting.
The walnut grips rate about very good with an armory added varnish over minor handling marks and scratches on both panels.
The grip screw exhibits minor slot damage and all serial numbers are matching.
An original black leather holster is included that is maker marked "F.W. KINKEL/MAINZ/1915" on the back, along with the letters "NH" hand-carved into the leather.
The holster has some mild crazing and small surface scuffs along with some light damage to the closure tab.
This is a nice Reichsrevolver that rates very good plus condition overall.
