The Remington is a single-action, six-shot, percussion revolver produced by E. Remington & Sons, Ilion, N.Y., based on the Fordyce Beals patent of September 14, 1858 (Patent 21,478).
The Remington Navy revolver is slightly smaller framed than the Army, and in .36 caliber with an 7.375 inch[Beals Navy 7.5 inch] barrel length.
This gun offered for sale is a Remington-Beals Navy (1860–1862) in .36 caliber, with 7.5" Barrel, and wooden grips.
Operationally the gun still functions, pulling the hammer back rotates the cylinder, although the cylinder appears to be loose.
The Barrel is a bit frosty but maintains good rifling.
The overall bluing has beem reduced to a dull gray with some white showing.
The Grips are wooden with a bit of schrinkage from time.
Very interesting piece of American History from 1860's to add to your collection.
