C&R S&W Safety HAMMERLESS .32 Revolver Circa 1907
Description:
C&R S&W Safety HAMMERLESS .32 Revolver Circa 1907
Great Turn of the 20th Century Conceal & Carry Revolver
Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson .38 Safety Hammerless Revolver, made circa 1907 in Springfield, Massachusetts. This relatively small 5-shot revolver would have been an ideal conceal and carry revolver as the 19th Century came to a close and the world entered the turbulent 20th Century. Chambered in the respectable .38 S&W, this revolver delivered both form and function. The hammerless design reduced the risk of snagging on clothing, as well as the risk of malfunction if fired from the pocket. The overall profile is sleek and streamlined, ahead of its time in the 1890s. As an additional safety measure, we see one of the first grip safeties on a mainstream gun. Like other great Smith & Wesson revolvers, a simple push on the latch at the back of the backstrap allows the barrel to pivot down, while the auto-ejector empties the cylinder.
Overall condition is very good. Some of the original blue remains, with the remainder of the metal surfaces wearing a dark patina. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The grips are in good shape. The bore is in very good condition. The action is excellent.
This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
Barrel is 3-1/4 inches.
