ENGRAVED SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1
Description:
To be precise this would be the Model 1 Third Issue 7-shot 22 cal revolver. The 3rd issue had the bird's head style grip on it. The grips are ivory and in VG cond. Nickel finish. There is a Smith & Wesson Letter that comes with this gun. There is no mention of factory engraving so that was evidently done by someone else of the period. Nice smooth metal. Typical scroll engraving. Gun indexes and is relatively tight at the hinge pin. Bore is fair to good with some roughness. Also on this S & W Letter which is dated 1986 it states that this gun was sold in April of 1875. A good looking good collectable piece.
