Description:
Serial #15509, .32 S&W, 3 1/8" barrel with a fair bore that has dark freckling within the grooves.
This is an interesting revolver, very close in appearance with many of the other pocket revolvers of the day but instead has a solid frame with thumb switch safety mounted on the frame knuckle.
The revolver retains 95 - 97% of the original nickel with remnants of the original gold wash in the cylinder flutes and on the cylinder pin / ejector.
Traces of the original blue remain on the trigger and top - mounted cylinder lock with the balance turned to a dark plum - brown color.
The frame has Merwin Hulbert style line and punch dot engraving with some darker underlying metal visible on the edges where the nickel has flaked slightly.
The checkered hard rubber grips are in excellent shape with a very attractive pattern and very little wear or flattening of the points evident.
The mechanics are fully functional and the revolver is housed in the original two - piece blue box with "Gold Plated Engraved" surcharge on the end label.
This is a great looking and unusual pocket revolver that is in excellent overall condition; a seldom seen high grade Maltby.
