Smith & Wesson Single Action 1st Model Revolver "Baby Russian"
Description:
For sale, a S&W Single Action 1st Model Revolver also known as a "Baby Russian". This variation was only manufactured from 1876 to 1877 with a total of 25,548 made. This example is serial number 23,116, making it one of the last 2000 made at the end of 1877. It was a factory nickel plated revolver chambered for the short .38 S&W cartridge. There is approximately 50% of the original nickel finish left, with the balance being bright metal that has been cleaned to blend with the remaining nickel. The original hard rubber checkered grips with the S&W logo are in great shape. They dont have any cracks or repairs and with the exception of one small gouge in the right grip panel, show very little signs of use/wear. This little Smith & Wesson works 100% just like the day it left the factory. The cylinder is serial numbered to the revolver as you can see int he pictures, and it still locks up nice and tight. These little 1st Model Baby Russians are quite scarce, and this would be a great addition to any antique arms collection.
