This is a M&P 1st model U.S. Navy contract pistol, 1000 revolvers with 6” barrel, checkered grips were delivered to the U.S. Navy in 1900. The butt was stamped with ”U.S.N.” with an anchor. Some one tried to obscure these marks but they are still there and visible. The serial number on front grip strap is 500x. The number inside the crane and under the barrel is 200x. There is a “star with an I” mark with these. On the back strap is a rack number “50”. This pistol is in good condition with some wear on the original finish, actions is tight, grips are very good (no chips). A historic and rare U.S. military pistol.
