These 4th change revolvers were produced between 1915 to 1942 beginning with serial number 241704. The original grips are serial numbered to this pistol. All the parts are also serial numbered to the frame. The hammer and trigger have the patent information on the back. This pistol is a 6 inch 38 Smith & Wesson Special. The revolver is in almost unfired condition! The blued finish is in the high polish early style mirror finish. There is an ever so light drag line between the bolt stops. The grips are in minty condition. The original box is serial numbered in pencil on the bottom of the box. This box is in very fine condition and is intact with no repairs. This style of box came out in the 20's and is a patent display box. This is a very stunning early Smith & Wesson with it's original display box.
