2.5" Smith & Wesson Model 66-2 .357 Magnum Revolver ** Beautiful! **
Description:
This late 1980's production Smith & Wesson Model 66-2 revolver with a 2.5" inch barrel is a real beauty in excellent all-original condition. The Model 66 was introduced in 1971 and the dash-2s were introduced in 1982. This example is serial number AND9036, making it's date of production sometime in the late 1980's. This Model 66 has obviously lived a very easy life and has been fired very little since leaving the factory. The stainless steel finish looks superb with only the smallest of handling marks visible under close examination. It is easily a 97% gun and has not been altered or improved in any way. It features a red ramp front sight and an adjustable target style rear sight. The bore and cylinder shows no traces of carbon or wear. The bore is minty and bright with sharp lands and grooves in the rifling. There is zero pitting or erosion visible. The original factory checkered hardwood grips show some light wear from handling but still look great. They are free from any cracks or repairs. The action on this Smith & Wesson Model 66 is excellent. It is perfectly "in time", smooth, and locks up tight. The trigger is nice in either single or double action modes of operation. This S&W is definitely a beautiful example and would make a great addition to any collection. These 2.5" inch guns are much harder to find than the 4" and 6" inch guns in any condition, much less as clean and tight as this one.
