Early Smith & Wesson Model 686 Distinguished Combat Magnum .357 Revolver w/ Box & Inserts
Description:
For sale, a very nice early Smith & Wesson Model 686 Distinguished Combat Magnum Revolver in .357 Magnum complete with the original serial numbered box and all of the manuals/inserts. This revolver was made circa 1982, in the first couple of years of production of this model. This S&W is in great shape overall, with only some minor handling marks visible in the stainless steel finish. It has had a scope mounted on it at one point which left some marks in the finish on the top strap and on either side of the frame around the barrel extension, but they are minor and do not detract much from the clean appearance of this revolver. The bore is minty and bright with no pitting or signs of erosion in the rifling. The cylinder bores are also very clean and bright. It has beautiful factory target-style checkered wooden grips with lots of nice dark grain showing in them. The grips are in excellent condition and fit nicely. The action on this Smith 686 is wonderful in either double or single action modes of operation. Everything is "in time" and the trigger breaks nicely without any creep or grittiness. This "no dash" Model 686 comes with the original serial numbered box and all the paperwork from the factory. If you have been looking for a nice early pre-lock Model 686 that is complete with the box and manuals for your collection here is your chance!
