Smith & Wesson MK II Hand Ejector Caliber 45 LC DA Revolver
Description:
Smith & Wesson MK II Hand Ejector Caliber 45 LC DA Revolver
Caliber: 45 Long Colt
Barrel: 6.5"
Note: This is an original S&W MK II Hand Ejector, chambered originally in .455, as was issued to the British military in WWII and later rechambered to .45 Long Colt for use here in the US. Appropriate British Military stamps on barrel and frame and cylinder. The gun has a high percentage of original finish with most blue wear being on the barrel. Tragically there is rust pitting on the top strap, top of the barrel in the signature block, and the left and right sides of the front side blade. Either the gun sat in a position where something wet lay on the top strap, barrel, and sight or this is damage from blood residue. Having looked at the damage that blood can cause to carbon steel before, I would say that's what this looks like. Bore is bright with strong lands and grooves. Likewise the chambers are all clean. 85% of the gun escaped the rigors of rust spotting. The gun is mechanically tight and the original walnut S&W emblem diamond grips remain. A great old N-frame Smith that you can not only shoot, but collect because of its history.
