Smith & Wesson Model 1905 Hand Ejector in 32-20 Caliber
Description:
The serial number of this Hand Ejector S&W is 129844 which makes it a 4th (and last) change and dates the revolver to either 1939 or 1940. The original factory Smith & Wesson blue finish is a strong 85% with most of the finish wear being a result of holster carry and not actual firing and use. The sides of the barrel in particular show wear more so than any other area including the grip straps. You can see this in the pictures. The original factory checkered walnut grips with diamonds are in excellent condition with clean and crisp checkering and are serial numbered to the gun. The bore shows some minor pitting but has strong rifling with well-defined lands and grooves. This is typical of 32-20 Caliber revolvers from this time period. These pre-war S&W Hand Ejectors are really fine revolvers made with a high degree of fit and finish not often seen today on modern revolvers. With 32-20 ammunition still readily available today, this Hand Ejector would be a lot of fun to shoot and a worthy addition to any gun collection.
