19th Century European Percussion Pistol .56 caliber
Description: REDUCED PRICE!!!! This fine old European percussion pistol was built sometime during the 19th century. This finely detailed pistol has a 5.5” octagonal barrel with Damascus style pattern, approximate .56 caliber. Bore is good with strong rifling. Overall length, 12 inches. Front and rear sights. With steel ramrod (ramrod is stuck in position, possibly bent?). No proof marks or name of maker. The metal medallion shield in the stock behind the tang has been worn smooth. Finely detailed engraving on lock plate, hammer, trigger guard, finial, top tang, forend cap, wedge key, screw heads, and butt cap. Some of the original finish is still visible on lock plate adjacent to hammer, and also on the butt cap, but most has worn off. Gold inlayed band design at receiver end of barrel, and gold inlay band at muzzle end. Action is very tight and hammer holds at full and half cock. Stock is solid and tightly fitted to metal with numerous minor dings and dents appropriate for its age, but no cracks and very nicely checkered at the wrist with elegant raised engraving in the wood around the butt cap. Please note the appealing condition evident in the photos. Antique – no FFL needed. This is a collectible antique firearm and not warranted safe for shooting. Purchaser assumes all risks and should have a qualified gunsmith inspect the firearm before attempting to fire live ammunition. Shipping and insurance are additional cost. UPS ground service is available to the contiguous USA for $35 plus insurance. Alaska and Hawaii are additional cost. 3-Day Inspection period applies to purchases at list price. Upon return of the firearm in purchased condition with all parts and accessories, purchase price will be refunded less shipping/handling/insurance costs. SOLD Antique: Yes |
