Antique Argentine Model 1891 Rifle by Leowe
Description: Serial #F7449, 7.65mm Mauser, 24” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a small amount of freckling within the grooves. This is a “scrubbed” rifle that has been shortened to sporting rifle length and has lightly freckled original blue on the barrel with mottled plum-gray at the front of the receiver where the national crest was removed. All numbers match and the bolt has a freckled armory bright finish while the latch retains visible traces of the original nitre bluing. The original front sight base was salvaged during the conversion and reattached to the new muzzle (it is now slightly loose). The matching stock has a few minor handling blemishes and small bruises on the underside of the forearm, as well as some minor abrasions and marks at the remaining barrel band. This is a fairly well done sporter conversion, but could be spruced up without too much trouble or expense. Antique SOLD Manufacturer: Mauser Model: 1891 Caliber Info: 7.65mm Gauge Info: 7.65mm |
