Wood Condition: Very good with handling marks. Bore Condition: Bright shiny with strong rifling. Barrels: 21 Stock: Smooth walnut. Fore End: Smooth walnut. Butt Pad: Smooth steel with CCH. Weight: 7-lbs., 50ozs. Sights: Front blade with 2-position rear blade. Extras: The designer of this carbine was Union General Ambrose E. Burnside and between 1857 and 1865 approximately 53,800 carbines were manufactured. All were .54 caliber and used either a copper casing or tapered foil cartridge.
