These guns were made for the Civil War, but did not make it into service before the war was over. These guns were made by E.G. Lamson and Company. This firm was originally Robbins and Lawrence before being purchased and renamed. This gun has a smooth brown patina on the barrel. Frame is mottled gray patina. Wood is very good. It has a coat of varnish on it. The cleaning rod is a replacement. This gun has been modified to have a magazine cut off by a lever on the left hand side. Very unusual.
