Sharps 1874 Sporting Rifle. Made in 1877 and sold to Kittridge and Company in Cincinnati, Oh. Kittridge was a supplier for shops out West. A gun sold to Kittridge is generally considered a western shipped gun. This gun is even Kittridge and Company marked on the top of the barrel by the caliber marking. It was shipped in March of 1877. It is in 45 and 2â…ž caliber which is also known as 45-110. This is a nice sharp gun with 70% of the original blue on the barrel. Case colors remain on the frame in protected areas, but mostly the frame is a silverish gray patina. Wood is very good. Gun has double set triggers. Bore is excellent. This gun comes with factory letter where it mentions that Kittridge guns were sent out west and made there way to Texas buffalo hunt!
