Mechanics: excellent Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None Our Assessment: A nice honest piece of Cavalry history. As was the practice of the military this arm had the metal and the wood coated with linseed oil. It has hardened into a varnish that has protected the metal and makes it look darker than it is. It would benefit by having that removed and would cause a great difference in upgrading the appearance and make all the markings more readable. This is an ANTIQUE, NO FFL is required. If any firearms are to be used for shooting purposes, a qualified gunsmith should inspect them first. Adult signature required upon delivery.
