Winchester Pre-64, Model 70 National Match Rifle
30 Gov't '06
1950 Mfg.
Description:
Not a National Match rifle but a 1950 Heavy Target rifle in 30-06 caliber. Wood/Finish appear to be IMO 90-95%. This rifle appears to be a 'Target" model and not a 'National Match' model. Chamber and bore appear bright and shiny. 24" tapered barrel. Lyman 48WH long slide rear sight and a globe sight on the front of unknown mfg. It appears that the muzzle has been modified with a scope block to attach the front sight. The milled dovetail has been plugged. See pictures. The front sight has inserts, no diopter. Action not glass bedded. Original leather sling, 6 position aftermarket alloy hand stop, checkered steel buttplate and three scope blocks. Serial numbers match. #159757. Made in 1950 in the USA by craftsmen the way a firearm is supposed to be made, machined metal and wood. No plastic, fibergalss or camo. Like most match rifles, this one appears well cared for and recieved the normal amount of wear. This is a cool old firearm that I would like to keep but I am a hunter and have no use for a classic match rifle like this. I believe I have set a very fair price for this classic firearm and I am committed to finally selling this firearm which I acquired from a long dead uncle. I have fired it roughly 100 rounds in the last 25 years.
I am not a FFL, but will send to FFL of your choice, but I believe this firearm qualifies as a currio/relic since it is over 50 years old. I am not a photographer so I hope the photos are adequate. If not, let me know and I will try to get better ones. Please contact me with comments. I can be called or texted at 612-418-9005 Buyer to pay shipping charges.
