GRANITE Mountain Arms 505 Gibbs-Ike Ellis
Description:
GMA 505 Gibbs, Serial # 0198 which indicates it left the GMA facility as a completed barreled action done by Mike Roden. Then was stocked by the late Ike Ellis of Idaho. Bottom metal engraving by Lee Giffiths with a cape buffalo and nicely done scroll. This is a very beautiful rifle that was no doubt engineered to be used. I would say it has seen some safari action. Stock finish shows some wear (90%), bluing is high polish with a few dings, nothing that would detract from overall finish (also 90%). 24 in Krieger barrel, bore is perfect. Action is smooth as glass. There is one spot on the front barrel band that if you look very closely it's evident that some barrel cleaning solution or something got on there and the bluing was touched up. Smithson Single button QR 1" mounts with a Leupold VXIII 1.25-4, heavy #4 reticle. Very nice trigger, 14.0" LOP. Rear blade express sight works with 525gr or 600gr North Fork bullets out to 50 yards. Load data, die components, and a supply of bullets available as well, price can be discussed. This a usable example of a big bore rifle in a timeless caliber, that to duplicate today would cost a minimum of 23-25k and who knows how long a wait. I have more pictures, and can take more and email if there is specific things that need to be viewed. Serious inquiries only please. Price Reduced $1000.00 to $14,500.00
