Antique Chilean Model 1895 Rifle by Loewe
Description: Serial #A7579, 7mm Mauser, 29" barrel with a good bore that has some dark freckling within the grooves. The barrel, receiver, and furniture retain 70-75% of the original blue finish with some gray fading at the muzzle, some further gray fading along the exposed edges and projections, and evenly scattered spots of freckling with a few small areas of pinprick pitting scattered about. The matching numbered bolt has some further spots of dull brown freckling, heaviest on the handle. The matching numbered walnut stock and handguard have been lightly sanded with a thin oil finish applied. There are some small handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout, as well as a straught, with-the-grain crack running back along the wrist at the top. The cartouches are still visible but indistinct and there is heavier wear at thebutt. Nevertheless, this is a very good small ring military Mauser that was made prior to 1899 and would make a nice addition to a collection.
