Mauser Sporter Custom 7mm w/Krupp Barrel
Description:
A 7x57 From my personal project pile, which is simply getting too big. This rifle originally got my attention because of the unusually pretty piece of wood, and the cool caliber! Note the gorgeous figure in the butt, that straightens thru the wrist, as is proper. 24" Kruppstahl barrel has an excellent bore, rifling and chamber, rating an easy 90% condition level. Action appears to be a Mauser 96, with evidence of claw mount bases having been present in the past. There was a one-piece redfield base installed, but I removed it; buyer can have the base if they want it, and it should accept standard dovetail ring set from Leupold, Redfield, etc. Looks like an older re-blue, but done nicely, with no red-flags, and stil in very presentable condition. 13-1/4" pull over the White-Line pad. Stock is cracked behind the tang, and can be repaired...but thats for the next guy to tackle (not a ferrociously recoiling caliber anyway) Could also use some checkering touch-up, a coat of stock oil, a claw mount scope...I'd better stop, or I'll end up just keeping it! Email or call for additional info.
