Eddystone Model 1917 Enfield Parade/Honor Guard Rifle Dated 1917
Description: For sale, a very cool chrome plated Eddystone Model 1917 Enfield manufactured in 1917. This chrome plated 1917 was likely a parade or honor guard rifle but also could have just been a wall hanger in a VFW or home. This Eddystone 1917 is still 100% functional and has not been deactivated or welded in any way. As you can see in the pictures, the chrome plating still looks great even though it appears to be an old plating job. It would rate at around 95%. The bore in this rifle is average with some pitting in various places but it still has good rifling. The lands and grooves are still nice and prominent and it doesn't look like it has had a lot of rounds thru it. The adjustable rear sight works perfectly and sits firmly in place when extended up in the ladder position. The original stock is also in great shape. It is free from cracks and repairs, it just has some minor dents and dings expected from 100 years of age. It has one cartouche still visible, a stamped box containing the letters "R.I.A. FK" on the left side of the stock below the receiver. This tells us that the rifle was still in military service post-WW1 and went thru a rebuild at the Rock Island Arsenal and was inspected by Frank Krack; who used this stamp between 1920 and 1930. This 1917 Enfield is 100% complete with a whitesling with chrome plated hardware that matches the rifle. This would be a great addition to any military rifle collection and is definitely a conversation piece that is still capable of being taken to the range and enjoyed.
