Custom Built .500 Jeffery by Dave Caboth, original Pre-War (ca. 1934) Oberndorf Model 98 standard length Mauser action, traditional flag safety, 24" barrel with integral quarter rib, sling swivel mount and ramp front sight machined by Dave Caboth (one of America's finest metalsmiths), one standing express and two folding leaf rear sight, traditiaonl small brass bead front blade w/ flip up night sight, Blackburn one piece bottom metal with straddle floor plate and inside the bow release, two screw Jerry Fisher steel grip cap, inletted rear swivel, pancake style cheekpiece on nicely figured, albeit very sturdy, piece of American English walnut, drop belly in the magazine for a 3 round capacity and nicely shaped stock contours, two panel checkering on the pistol grip w/ a traditaional wrap checkering point pattern w/ Mullered borders on the forearm by Gary Goudy (founding member of the ACGG), ebony forend tip, and 14 1/8" LOP over a black Pachmayr Decelerator pad, metal has a rust blue finish and is tastefully engraved by Jim White in a traditional scroll pattern. This gun appears to be unfired (by the previous owner at least) and is in 99% overall condition. Feeds flawlessly and easily accepts the fat .500 rounds. Gun weighs 10 lbs. 11 oz. and would cost over $10,000.00 to replace if you could pull the maker's of this rifle together for a project.
