C.G. Haenel Aydt Schuetzen Rifle. Presentation grade with Hermann Hoyer inscription. Cal. 8.15x46R. 31 1/2" octagon barrel, blue case hardened finish, walnut stock. This pre war rifle was proofed in 1925 and has "HAENEL ORIGINAL AYDT" on top of receiver. Action is engraved with floral scroll work with silver accents and has a silver portrait of a German sportsman on the right. Post front sight with partial globe on a ramped base. Dovetail rear quarter rib of the barrel marked 1-3 for removable rear sight. Adjustable diopter rear sight in an integral base on the upper tang. Double set trigger group with Schnabel tip forearm. Forearm has silver plate inscribed "Hermann Hoyer". Among the possible owners is Hermann Otto Hoyer, an artist and early member of the Nazi party and responsible for the painting " In the beginning was the word". Condition is very good . The barrel retains 90% of the original blue finish. There is some fading on the forward section to a dark brown patina. The other components retain brown case colors and have some light spotting. The wood is good and has crisp checkering with some minor dings and scratches. The action and set triggers work very well and the markings are crisp. Very attractive rifle. Serial # 205XX
