Civil War Sharps Cavalry Carbine: Antique with Clear Cartouches
Description: Antique Sharps New Model 1863 Carbine Civil War Civil War Production Sharps Cavalry Carbine w Good Cartouches Here we present an antique Sharps New Model 1863 Carbine, made during the last two years of the American Civil War. There is a reason the good name of Sharps has lasted to the current day. Many of these were made and used during the War, and they were popular with the troops. They were handy, accurate, powerful and reliable guns. They also included the Sharps pellet priming system, which could be loaded into a spring-loaded magazine and used instead of the “hat” variety of percussion caps. The shooter would cock the hammer, move back the arm on the device and as the hammer dropped it would fling a pellet primer right under the hammer and onto the percussion nipple. This specimen is in very good condition. Metal barrel has an even brown patina, the frame a dark gray, with the breech block still boasting some beautiful blue on the top and bottom. Markings are clear. “EAW” is the inspector marked on the barrel for E.A. Williams. “T.W.R.” is stamped on the saddle ring bar for Thomas W. Russel. Cartouches on the left side of the walnut stock are clear and are “JW” for John Wilder and “TWR” for Thomas W. Russel. Bore is in good condition. Action is excellent. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 22 inches in length. Caliber: .52 percussion Bore is in good condition. The firing mechanism is excellent. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $4600 #10307 SOLD Antique: Yes |
