American Arms Co "Side Cocking" Shotgun
Description:
#1723, 10ga, 31 1/4 inch barrel, nickel frame, "white" damascus barrel, Steel butt plate, hardwood stock & fore arm, side cocking action much like the later Remington models, 1880's.
Between 1877 & 1895 there were 3 companies with the name "American Arms Co" in Boston. All were owned by George H Fox. Their demise & resurrection would leed one to believe there were financing problems. One of the rarer & better made American single shots.
Condition: bore is bright with some black powder oxidation immediately in front of the chamber, metal has been lightly cleaned, 75% nickel on frame, dark walnut is in solid & uncracked condition, excellent mechanically, excellent marks.
