#6038, Franz Sodia - Ferlach: A Franz Sodia Tip Down Break Open Toplever Single Shot (1/2 Double Rifle) Stalking Rifle in 222 Remington Made in 1956, 26" Ejector Octagon Bohler Antinit Steel Barrel with a full length machined integral rib with a profiled 1/4 rib & front ramp, The top of the integral rib has very nice machine stippling, 1 folding & 1 standing rear sights, Claw Mounts, Soldered half rings on a Kahles 3 x 10 scope, Kersten Action Body with Kersten double crossbolts, Double underlugs with double bite, Automatic ejector, Bolstered frame, Bushed striker, Scalloped action back, Tang safety, Deeley & Edge forend release, Nitro Proofed in Ferlach, Pistol grip stock at 14" over a 1/2" pad & will go 14 1/2" with a 1" pad, Sling eyes, Tyrolean style cheekpiece, 7 lbs. without the scope & 8 lbs. 2 oz. with, 10% engraving coverage, The original barrel blue at 94%, The original frame case colors at 95%, The original wood finish at 95% with very slight handling marks, The checkering remains at 99%, The bore is excellent plus and it looks like it did in 1956. The rib between the claw bases had been drilled & tapped but very professionally plugged. This quality 1956 piece has 4 locking screws on key screws. This is an excellent mechanical gun with a very tough action body with stout bolting.
