#4910 Winchester 1873-SRC (Saddle Ring Carbine), 3rd Variation
Description:
#4910 Winchester 1873-SRC (Saddle Ring Carbine), 3rd Variation, 372XXX(1891 mfgr), 44WCF with G-VG bore (about a “6” on a scale of 10) and smooth tight action. The bore shows a good amount of wear, but not badly pitted, just light scale and thin rifling. Standard carbine sights with the elevated ladder rear barrel sight, original dust cover, and good markings. Overall a thin grey-brown patina with some minor salt-pepper fine pitting and crud build up, most being between the barrel and magazine but does not appear to be heavily pitted anywhere, and should clean much better, if desired. Very decent wood, just some usual gouges and dents from 120+ years of use. Seems it is getting very difficult to find ANY ‘73 Winchester carbine and this one is a very decent original specimen. VG $2450
