This is a Winchester 1873 rifle in .44-40 with a set trigger. The serial number dates to 1881. The receiver has Good to Very Good patina with a few patches of freckling on the action flats. The 26 inch octagon barrel has Very Good patina. The bore is pitted with visible rifling. The magazine tube is undented and shows some discoloration. The straight grip stock is Good to Very Good with some handling marks and finish wear. This rifle has a sling swivel on the butt stock and a sling swivel base on the fore end cap.
