Description:
This is one of the finest Winchester Model 1866 rifles anywhere. The 24 inch blue octagon barrel and round mag tube have 98% + original blue. The brass forearm cap has a nice even mustard color with strong blue on the retaining screw. The walnut forearm has very nice walnut with only a few small field marks. The brass receiver also has a nice even mustard color with the factory milling lines still present. The screws are a nice shiny blue. The firing pin/extractor are a very strong blue. The lifter is in excellent condition and has not had a hammer taken to it. The hammer, trigger and lever all retain a nice but fading case color. The butt stock is very nice with some frontier marks but very strong finish remaining. The crescent brass butt with trapdoor have a nice mustard color matching the rest of the brass on the rifle.
