WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 SRC - CAL. .44 W.C.F.
Description:
"SALE PENDING" - Winchester Model 1892 SRC - Cal. .44 W.C/F. - 20" Bbl. - SN 123674. Perfect bore and action- bore is bright with sharp rifling and the action is smooth with a tight lock-up. Metal is excellent with sharp markings and no rust, pits, or corrosion but shows some scattered light spotting on the steel buttplate. Original brass blade front sight and carbine rear sight - excellent screws. Barrel and magazine tube retain 90% -95% blue with some thinning - receiver has around 75% = blue with some thinning and shows a gray patina on the top, bottom, and tang from normal wear and aging. Walnut stocks are sound and solid with no splits, cracks, or chips and show a few mild surface marks from normal handling - 85% + finish remains - initals "WGD" nicely carved into right side of buttstock - a nice, attractive job that adds some character to the gun. A very nice early and except for initials, all original old 1892 SRC in near excellent condition in the very desirable .44 caliber that shows only moderate wear from normal use - a super shooter and collectible that is getting very difficult to find in decent, unaltered condition.
