WINCHESTER 1885 H/W 38 WCF, ANTIQUE
Description:
Serial # 46xxx, circa 1890. A survivor. A nice unmolested example of an early Winchester H/W in 38/40 caliber. A chambering usually found in a low wall configured rifle. The receiver shows some silvered CC with the balance a gray/ brown. Action is tight, and mechanically excellent. The oct. 28” number 1 weight barrel retains 80% blue turning plum, original barrel sights and has a shiny, very shootable bore with VG rifling with some minor spots of corrosion. The standard straight grip, crescent buttplate stock & forend is solid with good color, nice grain and NO cracks with some small to moderate hunting blemishes. Screws and wood to metal fit are excellent
