Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall in 25-20 Single Shot Caliber with Optional 30" #1 Barrel. Serial # 34362. Metal is in the mid to high 90% Range with 95% Original Case Colors on the Receiver, Just Traces on the Crescent Butt-Plate and 90+% on the Hammer. Minor wear on the bottom of Lever ( See Photos ). Wood retains 90%+ Original Finish with a few
minor handling marks and one noticeable nick on the comb. Nothing major. Lyman Tang Sight and Flip down Beaches Front Sight with the standard buckhorn elevator sight on rear of barrel. Bore is deceaving. All according what kind of light you look at it with. One type, the bore looks bright and shiney while with a good internal bore light, it has a few dark spots and minor pitting around and in front of the throat. Nothing major. Great Lands and Grooves. In my opinion, A real nice bore for the age of the gun. Like many early 1885,s and as the factory letter states, the gun left the factory in 1889 as a 22 Caliber and was returned in 1896 for a R&R which I presume was when it was changed to 25-20 Centerfire with the 30" Barrel and possibly a refinish. A real Minty Gun for a 1889 piece. Antique, so no paperwork is needed for transfer. Thanks for Looking.
