WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 HIGH WALL RIFLE
Description:
Cal 32 Ideal. This gun originally left the factory as rifle, 32 Ideal, 30" half oct, #3 bbl, plain trigger, checkered pistol grip stock and shipped March 2, 1907. The gun now features a 30" full round #3 bbl. Take down frame. Double set triggers. Checkered pistol grip plain walnut stock. Special order rifle buttplate with a trapdoor. Fitted with a scope. It has the "WP" marks in front of the blocks. The cal marking is off to the side of the block and was factory applied no doubt. It is fitted with a B-4 Winchester scope. Globe with a spirit level front sight. Folding tang sight. Fine little gun! All the work is definitely factory. Scarce cal as only 230 were ever manufactured. Cond excellent+ with about 98% glossy blue. Excellent case colors on the hammer and lever. Someone neatly carved "1907" in the stock about 1/4" lettering. That was the date the gun was received back from the Winchester re-work. On the opposite side is a well done carved family crest.
