Guns International #: 100812656
Seller's Inventory #: W7791
Winchester 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine “Trapper”. Made in 1890. This gun has had its barrel shortened to 15 ½” inches and now has the appearance of a Trapper. Of course no Winchester 1866s came from the factory with super short barrels, this barrel looks to have been shortened during its period of use. Metal on barrel has a smooth dark brown patina with very clear markings. Frame has a rich dark mustard color patina. Wood appears to have been in a dry climate and there looks to have been tacks in the left hand side of the butt. Very neat looking 1866 saddle ring carbine.
