Guns International #: 101030704
Seller's Inventory #: W7740
Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine “Trapper.” Made in 1890. This gun has had its barrel shortened to 15 ½” and now the appearance of a Trapper. Of course, no Winchester 1866s came from the factory with super short barrels, this barrel looks to have been shortened during its period of use. Metal on barrel has a smooth dark brown patina with very clear markings. Frame has a rich dark mustard color patina. Wood appears to have been in a dry climate and there looks to have been tacks in the left hand side of the butt. Very neat looking 1866 saddle ring carbine!
