Winchester 1873 3RD Model Case Color .44 30 inch
Description:
Winchester Model 1873 Special Order Sporting Rifle .44-40wcf. The serial number of this example is 1562XX placing date of manufacture in 1884. The Buffalo Bill Museum Worksheet that will be shipped with this rifle provides the following details: Model 1873, Date received into the Warehouse: September 3rd, 1884. Type: Rifle, Barrel length: 30", Trigger: Set, Date shipped from the Warehouse: September 5th, 1884, Remarks: No#1 4936 Casehardened, R&R: None listed. Overall condition is very good with an original and untouched factory finish that has toned to a very nice, smooth metal patina. The bore is fine with strong rifling and shine from breech to muzzle. The bore will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. This rifle was ordered with a "Case Colored" Receiver with silver remaining in protected areas. The Single Set Trigger is mechanically perfect, however the set screw is broken off, I will provide a replacement screw. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect. No evidence of sanding. Normal dings and handling marks. Very rare transitional 2nd to 3rd Model 1873, Very, very rare to find a .44 with this length of barrel. Please phone Tommy at (760)-912-3761 or e-mail all Questions and concerns.$35.00 shipping. Insurance will be additional.
