24 inch octagon barrel with full length mag tube and rifle style butt. A good bore with lots of shine and a few light spots of roughness. Crisp action. Original sights. Most all of the original thinning blue remains on the metal surfaces. Dust cover is a gray patina. Traces of case color remain on the hammer and lever. Wood is good looking and fitting with the usual wear and handling mars. An "LN" or "N7" (depending on how you hold the gun) carved into the left side of the forearm. Other than the carving it is a real good looking 3rd Model 1873 rifle. Made on 1885.
