1876 .45-75 OCTAGON RIFLE, MADE 1882
Description: 1876 .45-75 OCTAGON RIFLE, MADE 1882, this one is not caliber marked which was typical of early guns chambered in the then standard .45-75 caliber, this is a well used but solid and tight actioned rifle, barrel and mag show traces of aged blue but are mainly gray, good barrel address markings, has the desirable sporting ladder sight with slide intact and typical Winchester blade front sight, receiver shows some blue mixing heavily gray/brown, dust cover intact, good blue on loading gate, overall looks like someone got a little carried away with cleaning, fine+ forend, butt stock looks a bit dry and shows a little shrinkage/wear around the upper tang, small chip on top of the stock by the edge of the butt plate, evidence of some minor and very scattered pitting that was cleaned off overall, tight action with really nice uncleaned smooth brass lifter, bore has good rifling with surface crud and light roughness- much of which ought to scrub out, this would be a good one to restore, but not bad as is.
