Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall Winder Musket 22 Long rifle
Description:
Serial #138622, .22 Short bored to 22LR., 28" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This rifle was made ca. 1920, and retains 80-85% of the original blue, mostly along the barrel, and has brown freckling along the balance with a smooth, mottled plum-brown patina on the frame.
The rifle has a Lyman adjustable rear aperture sight mounted along the right side of the frame, as well as a high front sight blade.
The full-length finger-groove forend, and the buttstock both have some minor handling and impact marks scattered throughout, as well as some thinning of the varnish along the right side of the wrist from past use.
The action is still tight and functions flawlessly.
This is a nice example of a Low Wall Winder musket that has an immaculate bore and rates fine condition overall.
We have test fired this rifle and it works very well.
