Description:
#4933 Winchester 1886 RBFMCB 45/90WCF, serial range 23XXX (1888), VG bore and action (about a 7-7+ on a scale of 10) with no bad spots but having some light lead build-up and scale in the grooves. Very decent wood with no slivers or serious dings and having a tight fit to the metal. Some good traces of orig varnish remaining. Fine crisp metal, no pitting, and just a thin pale grey-brown patina on the barrel, magazine, and a mottled grey on the frame. This handsome old Winchester has obviously had pretty decent care in its 128 years of life, and now with the ever growing popularity of “Cowboy Action” shooting, this heavy charged caliber can easily be found for sale on-line, as well as the fact it can also chamber the still easily available 45/70 casing. Considerably above most of the “average” 1886’s that can be found in most gun shows, and being only the third year of production. VG+ $3395
