COMPLETE WINCHESTER 1886 TAKE DOWN HUNTERS RIG
Description:
Here we have an 1886 Winchester rifle complete with a full box of ammo and a scabbard all in one package. 33 WCF cal. Take down frame. 24 inch round barrel with a bright shiny bore. Barrel has most original but thinning blue with scratches. This gun was used, but with the condition of the bore, it was well taken care of. Crisp action. Receiver has original thinning blue on the sides and silvered out on the bottom where it was carried. Traces of case color remain on hammer and lever. Lyman front and King rear sights. Wood is good fitting and solid with no cracks. Just the usual handling and carry marks on a hunters gun made in 1906. The scabbard is marked "Wyeth/ Hdw & Mfg. Co./ St. Joseph, Mo." in a cartouche and "954 24". The Wyeth Hardware Co. of St Joseph, Missouri was established in the 1800s and makers of wagon wheels and leather goods such as harness, saddles, and holsters. Also an old full box of Remington 33 Winchester cartridges is included. This is an honest old Winchester that has been used for over 100 years and will keep going for 100 more.
