Look for the gold '55 Chevy road sign! ~Trades and offers are always considered~ *SELLING FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION* Very Rare & Outstanding Condition Special Order M1892 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine, Full Nickel Finish, with "Oiled" Select Wood & Sling Eyes, .44-40 WCF, mfg. 1902. This gun is an extremely rare configuration that remains in phenomenal 100% original condition. The carbine has spent it's entire life here in Connecticut, home of Winchester Repeating Arms, and has never been previously offered for sale. All features confirmed by factory records, and an official factory letter from the Cody museum will be included. The receiver, bolt, hammer, and upper/lower tangs retain 98% bright original Nickel finish which has begun to turn frosty in areas with very minor crazing on the sides of the receiver. There is little to no actual wear with no flaking. The lever and trigger show about 90%+ original finish mostly turned frosty with minimal flaking. The buttplate shows an astonishing 95% original finish which has just begun to turn frosty. The barrel, magazine tube, and barrel bands retain 90% original Nickel finish just beginning to turn frosty with minor scattered flaking. Original post front sight with original full Nickel ladder rear sight. The internals of the action are fully nickel plated throughout and amazingly retain 98% original finish. This gun was obviously used very little if at all! The stocks are of a select grade and retain their original untouched "oil" finish as noted in the factory records. The wood to metal fit is perfect throughout; tight and proud. Even the edges of the stock are still sharp and crisp exhibiting no wear. Aside from a very fine 1 7/8" check forward of the barrel band under the tip of the forestock, the wood is excellent with no damage or repairs, and practically no handling mars. Original sling eyes. Perfectly clear barrel address, upper tang address, caliber marking, and serial number. The action functions crisply as if it were new. The bore is absolutely flawless, a perfect 10. I would say it's as close as you could come to be "unfired", perhaps it is? This is a truly stunning and impressive investment grade Winchester that would nearly impossible to improve upon. Just to find a full Nickel plated '92 in ANY condition is a prize, but to hold this wonderfully unused and original example is to truly step back in time. FFL or C&R required on post-1898 firearms.
