ANTIQUE Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Carbine
Description:
ANTIQUE Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Carbine
SCARCE Antique .25-35 WCF Chambering Made 1896!
Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle, made in 1896 in New Haven, Connecticut. Production lasted from 1894 to present day with over a million produced. Relatively few of that number were produced prior to 1899, the date set by the ATF that designates whether a firearm is considered an “antique” or not.
Again, the credit for the design of such a prolific firearm lies with John Moses Browning. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder. The .30 WCF or .30-30 cartridge have all but become synonymous with the 1894. In all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. This example comes in the scarcer .25-35 WCF, a nice smaller bore caliber.
Overall condition is near fine. Original blue remains on the receiver and the magazine tube has quite a lot of blue. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut stock is in fine condition. The bore is excellent, sharp and shiny. The action is excellent. Here is a handy little carbine that promises to be a fantastic shooter.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 20 inches in length.
