Description:
Pre-64 WINCHESTER 1894 Lever Action CARBINE .30-30
Handy Carbine Made in 1949 in 30 WCF
Here we present a Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Carbine, made in 1949 in New Haven, Connecticut. Production lasted from 1894 to present day with over a million produced. Again, the credit for the design of such a prolific firearm lies with John Moses Browning. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder. The .30 WCF or .30-30 cartridge have all but become synonymous with the 1894. In all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other.
Overall condition is fine. The original blue finish is about 75%, faded only wear carried on the receiver and frame tangs. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut stock shows some handling but is solid. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The action is excellent. Here is one of the handiest and most venerated carbines of all time!
