Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine 20 inch .38/55wcf. The serial number of this carbine is 2702XX placing date of manufacture in 1902. Overall condition of this carbine is very good to fine with the barrel and magazine tube retaining 70-80% of the original factory blue toning to a nice even plum patina. The front sight is a special order Lyman with an Ivory bead. The bore is near perfect and will rate a 9.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The receiver has retained blue in protected areas with the a nice even patina that is smooth and damage free. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. At the time this carbine was manufactured, Winchester was using "Nickel Steel". This carbine will handle any current factory loads.
