WINCHESTER 1894 TD ANTIQUE.- NICE - A REAL BARGAIN FOR WHAT IT IS!
Description: Here is a classic example of a scarce variation in the popular 1894. It has the take down feature Bore is fine and wood fit is good. All original finish at about 70% ‘real’ blue. The wood is very nice with some figure and has excellent fit and few handling marks. Very small traces of case on lever. It is an 11xxxx antique S# that puts the DOM circa 1898. The action is tight and snappy. It does have 9 “kill” marks carved into the bottom of the stock. To me that gives the Winchester some provenance that it indeed was used in the field – more than likely to supply the family with game – or possibly in defense of their home. Who knows what happened 116 years ago. It BLUE BOOKS at near $4000 real value in a 5 year old 1911 Blue book. At it sits , it is not worth that because the barrel is an aftermarket .32 Special replacement – a lightweight short barrel. The takedown ring and the forend and the ‘half’ mag tube are original to the gun. A real bargain worth more than that for parts. If you can locate a proper cal. factory barrel it WILL be worth quite a bit more as you can see. Please PHONE with any questions. 813 – 8861235 ( FL) Thanks for looking.
